Host Interface Drivers

Overview

Ittiam Systems' Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio for Host Interface Drivers targets silicon and system designers who need to incorporate the Host Interface functionality into their systems as a chipset, System on a Chip (SoC) design or platform.

Host Interface modules, like SDIO, USB, Cardbus, PCIe, are used to connect hardware devices with a host systems like a PC or a PDA.  Host interface drivers enable network interface functionality like WLAN or PLC (Power Line Communication) to be added to the host through these host interfaces. These drivers provide a mechanism to configure the network interface, like WLAN and facilitate data transfers between the higher layers of the network stack (like the TCP/IP layer) and network interfaces.

Ittiam Systems' IP Offering

Ittiam Host Interface Driver IPs, which are licensed to multiple customers across the world, include optimized, high-performance Wireless LAN and PLC drivers for different Host interfaces (E.g. SDIO, Cardbus, USB, PCIe). These driver IPs are supported  on different Operating Systems like Windows XP, Windows CE and Linux.

Apart from a rich set of deliverables and support for integration of the IP in customer systems, Ittiam's Interface Driver IP program offers multiple options for interfacing WLAN, PLC and similar communication technologies to a host processor / platform / system.
