Platforms
Overview
Ittiam Systems' portfolio of validation platforms target silicon and system designers who need to perform real-time validation and system demonstration.
Verification of IP cores in real-time (if feasible) is a vital phase both in IP development and IP integration into SoC / System. FPGA-based validation platforms enables this verification and supplements unit-level IP verification by simulation. It is probably the fastest and most cost-effective method to perform hardware-software co-verification.
The validation platform can be used for multiple purposes. These include but are not restricted to:
- HW-SW co-verification
- Real-time testing and debugging
- Performance evaluation
- IP / SoC / System demonstration
- Certification testing
Ittiam Offering
Ittiam validation platforms have been provided to multiple customers across the world for real-time verification and integration of Ittiam IP into their system.
All Ittiam IPs are fully verified on the Ittiam Validation Platform
Apart from a rich set of deliverables and support for evaluation and verification of the IP by customers, Ittiam Validation Platform program offers multiple generations of platforms with varied capabilities and features.
Ittiam Wireless LAN Validation Platforms
The Ittiam WLAN Validation Platform provides an environment for a physical realization of Ittiam 802.11 PHY and MAC IP.Integrated with appropriate host interfaces and commercial Radio Frequency (RF) chipsets, this allows the Validation Platform to be operated as a Station or Access Point (AP) and is interoperable with standard off-the-shelf 802.11 WLAN networking equipment.
Ittiam has developed five generations of Wireless LAN Validation Platforms. The third (CWLAN), fourth (MWLAN) and fifth (MCE) generation platforms are currently in use, while the first two are obsolete.
These platforms have used high-end FPGAs from Altera or Xilinx in addition to processors like ARM, NIOS and PowerPC. Different operating systems like Linux, eCos have been ported on these platforms.
Various host interfaces including Ethernet (10 / 100 / 1000), USB 2.0, Cardbus, SDIO and PCIe are provided.
These platforms also have the provision to interface with different RF chipsets including Maxim, Airoha, RFMD, ThetaMicro, RF Solutions etc.
