Ittiam Selected for NASSCOM IT Innovation Awards 2006

NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies) is the premier trade body and ‘voice’ of the Indian IT industry. It launched its innovation initiative two years ago to prioritize innovation as imperative for sustained growth and success of the industry. In the NASSCOM Innovation Awards 2006 process, over 200 companies participated under the categories of emerging companies, product companies, processor innovators and innovative business models. A special panel of leaders from Indian and international industry reviewed the nominations.

Product Innovation companies, the category for Ittiam, were evaluated based on the originality of IP, the installed base of the product, the revenue generated and market potential.

Overall, seven companies were selected for the NASSCOM Innovation Awards 2006. The awards were presented by the Prime Minister of India at a special function in Mumbai on February 9, 2007 as part of NASSCOM India Leadership Forum. Ittiam is one of the award winners recognized for ‘its advanced digital audio and video signal processing algorithms for embedded system design of IP Video Phone (IPVP) and Portable Media Player Recorder (PMPR) products’. It is a great privilege for Ittiam to receive this national recognition which reflects the innovative spirit and culture of its people, organization and products.
