Detailed Profile
Ravishanker Ganesan joined Texas Instruments India in 1986 as a Software Engineer. In the initial years, he worked in the development of many EDA tools for Logic Design, IC layout and Test, the most notable being a compactor for VLSI layouts that resulted in significant impact to the efficiency of TI designs.

During 1989-90, Ravishanker spent considerable time in Houston, USA, to develop competency in Digital IC design. He was a member of the core team that designed modules of a DSP (Digital Signal Processor). The success of this team laid the foundation blocks for TI India to set up a full-fledged DSP design team later in 1995 .

During 1993-1995, Ravishanker was selected as the first Sales and Marketing Manager for TI's Semiconductor business in India. He built the distribution and customer support network for TI's products in India.

In 1995, Ravishanker led the first DSP Application Software team to be formed in TI India. The team delivered solutions for DTAD (Digital Telephone Answering Device). He had then moved on to lead the DSP Software Development Systems (SDS) organization in TI India. One of the products developed by the team - the DSP simulator - is a part of the overall eXpressDSP system by TI that won EDN's 1999 Innovation of the Year Award.

Ravishanker has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Communication and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, 1986.
