Communication Based Access Control

Overview

One of the key areas of video security is access control. Till date it has been primarily limited to identification of individuals based on various technologies starting from card readers to biometrics. With the availability of media over IP, access control can now be interactive with audio-visual interaction between the access control terminal and central monitoring station or access monitoring terminal.

Combining its technologies in AV communication and traditional video security, Ittiam offers media systems (VCMS) for audio-video communication based access control. The system is designed for large residential applications and also for industrial, infrastructural and defence segments.

VCMS includes application and media system built on Ittiam's production-hardened media framework and is complemented with custom board support package (BSP) and hardware.
