Ittiam and Advantech join forces to offer Video Wall Solution
September 17, 2012
IBC SHOW, Amsterdam: Ittiam Systems, a leading provider of Audio/Video Digital Signal Processing software and Advantech (TWSE: 2395.TW), a leading designer and manufacturer of multicore media processing platforms, today announced a strategic alliance to showcase solutions for the video monitoring and video wall markets.
Challenges and the complex ecosystem in the video monitoring market have created new requirements for cost effective high density video decode solutions. OEMs are now demanding solutions that lower their cost per channel density without loss of video quality. As a result, OEMs are now turning to multi-DSP solutions to meet these needs.
Building on a decade of experience in DSP IP and technologies for the digital media market, Ittiam is well positioned to address the requirements of the video monitoring market.Ittiam’s field proven software SDKs provide compelling partnership opportunities with leading platform providers like Advantech. Ittiam’s software suite comprised of audio/video codecs, media sub system and application software is optimized for multi-DSP platforms, flavors of which have been deployed in diverse Broadcast industry applications.
Advantech’s portfolio of multi-DSP platforms are ideal for system integrators who need to implement versatile video monitoring applications that fulfill a broad spectrum of market and customer requirements. The DSPC-8662H-PCXE multi-DSP platform is powered by Texas Instruments’ (TI) DaVinci™ TMS320DM8169 video processors and provides both configurability and scalability to realize the horsepower needed for multi-channel A/V decode and display. The four on board DSPs combined with Ittiam’s SDK, realize 12 Standard Definition channels per DSP, with an overall density of up to 48 channels on the platform.
Ittiam and Advantech will jointly showcase their solution at IBC 2012 from 7th to 11th September 2012. The demonstration will be on Advantech’s DSPC-8662H-PCXE multi-DSP hardware platform and Ittiam’s Software Development Kit (SDK) comprising of audio/video codecs, pre/post processing software and board support package.
”We are excited about the strategic alliance between Ittiam and Advantech” said Shantanu Jha, VP Media Processing Business Unit at Ittiam. ”Advantech’s high powered multi-DSP platforms provide an ideal choice to showcase the capabilities of our software. The requirements of the video monitoring market for multi-channel decode, scale and video composition can be met with our tailored SDKs and production ready software suite. We are confident this alliance will lead to greater synergies between Advantech and Ittiam to address this market.”
“With the video over IP support and multi-screen display capability enabled by Ittiam software solutions on Advantech hardware, we are providing a highly integrated video solution that is flexible for performing acquisition, encoding, decoding and streaming, all in a single design.” said David Lin, senior director of DSP and video solutions at Advantech.
“The collaboration between Ittiam and Advantech leverages our multicore DSP technology and enables us to explore new implementations for emerging video applications that will deliver superior visual experience and greater productivity for broadcasting industries, said Sean Gardner, video infrastructure business manager, multicore processors, TI. ”
The live demo is being showcased on Advantech’s booth in hall 9.A16. For meeting requests, please contact Eric van Vliet at firstname.lastname@example.org.
