First demonstration of new capability at NAB includes Ittiam’s i265 HEVC HDR10 encoder on Intel® Xeon® processor E3 v5 based HPE Moonshot systems for media processing
Las Vegas, NV – Ittiam Systems, a leading provider of advanced video and visual analytics solutions, announced that it is demonstrating the latest version of its i265 HEVC encoder with HDR10 support. The demonstration, in partnership with HPE, is being showcased in Intel’s booth (#SU9410) at the NAB Show 2017, and includes live, high-quality 1080p60 HDR10 encoding and pristine quality 4Kp60 HDR10 encoding with efficient DCI/P3 to Rec. 2020 HDR color conversion.
“Today we are setting trends for the future of video processing,” said Dr. Tom Bradicich, Vice President and General Manager, Servers, Converged Edge, and IoT Systems at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “Video content such as high-definition movies, shows, sporting events now offer significantly better viewing experiences on multiple types of televisions, displays, and mobile devices. HPE converged Moonshot and Edgeline systems, with the new Intel® Xeon® processor E3 v5, are a potent combination for supporting Ittiam’s new i265 HVEC encoder. This solution enables cable and media companies to deliver richer colors, sharper images, and more fluid motion in multiple formats and for many types of programming. In addition, these HPE systems will improve efficiency and lower costs by greatly reducing space and energy in their data centers.”
“Distributed, hybrid software implementations have been integral to our video codec strategy and have enabled us to stay ahead of the needs of our customers and deliver best in class performance. The highly scalable HPE Moonshot System combined with the efficient computational capabilities of the Intel Xeon Processor E3 v5 family with integrated Intel® Iris™ Pro graphics provide an ideal platform for us to execute this strategy and deliver stunning HDR10 video quality with our i265 encoders,” said Dirk Peters, SVP Sales at Ittiam. “What really makes Ittiam the preferred choice for our customers is our ability to achieve performance without compromising quality. Our distributed, integrated graphics-accelerated encoders deliver the same levels of quality as our pure CPU implementations and support the same features and presets.”
Ittiam is also demonstrating the HEVC HDR10 solution along with other codec formats (VP9, AV1) and advanced system solutions in its booth SU14513 at NAB Show 2017.
