Ittiam Systems demonstrates its H.265/HEVC based media transcoding software at COMPUTEX

Showcases high density media transcoding working with Intel for media cloud applications
Taipei, TAIWAN – Ittiam Systems, a leading solution provider to the Broadcast Media Industry, is demonstrating its H.265 based media transcoding solution for cloud and on premise deployments at Computex Taiwan in Intel’s booth M0420.
Working with Intel, the combined solution includes the following elements to deliver cost effective, low power solutions to deploy H.265 based media transcoding services:
- Ittiam’s Media Cloud Platform with a Media Pack that bundles Ittiam’s i265 family of H.265/HEVC codecs with other traditional audio and video formats.
- QCT STRATOS S910-X31E microserver powered by the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1285 v4 product family, delivering high performance to power ratio for video processing and including multiple compute sleds for high scalability.

The Media Cloud Platform is demonstrated on a 9 sled QCT STRATOS S910-X31E microserver hardware with each sled capable of 2-3 channels of HD H.264 to H.265 transcoding in real time. The highly scalable solution is well suited for ABR streaming, mobile OTT and other broadcast applications that leverage the bandwidth advantages of H.265 technology over traditional H.264.
